Cabinet Door Replacement in New Sharon, ME Near Me

Door replacement, sometimes called redooring, puts new doors and drawer fronts on your existing cabinet boxes. The boxes stay in place with their current finish, which keeps the project simpler than a full remodel. Accurate measurements matter a great deal here, along with the overlay style (full overlay, partial overlay, or inset), the hinge type, and the drill pattern for hinges. Door styles include shaker, slab, raised panel, and glass-front, and materials range from solid wood and paint-grade MDF to thermofoil and laminate. It is a good fit when the boxes are in solid shape and you are comfortable painting or refinishing them to match.
One thing to understand up front is that the exposed face frames and cabinet sides will still show their old finish, which is the main difference between door replacement and refacing. That mismatch can be handled with paint, a touch-up, or veneer, so it is worth deciding how you want to treat those surfaces before ordering. Custom doors also come with lead times, and it is common to order a sample door first to confirm the color and profile. Some homeowners in New Sharon, ME replace certain lower doors with pull-out drawers at the same time, which changes how usable the base cabinets are. Hardware and hinge upgrades are easy to add during the same visit.
